Yoga as a Practice of Returning

Āsana | Prāṇāyāma | Dhyāna | Svādhyāya

Yoga is more than movement alone. Through āsana (posture), prāṇāyāma (breath practices), dhyāna (meditation), yoga philosophy and svādhyāya (self-study), my classes create space to explore the practice both on and beyond the mat.

My approach is trauma-informed and invitational, while honouring yoga's South Asian roots and the traditions that inform the practices I share.

You don't need to have practised yoga before. You don't need to arrive calm. You can arrive as you are.

Yin Yoga

A slower practice with space to listen.

Thursdays 6:30 - 7:30pm | Wellington Meditation Centre

Sliding-scale pricing from $15 - $25

Yin gives us time.

Postures are mostly floor-based, supported with props and held for longer, creating space to notice what is happening in the body and mind.

Each class is shaped around a weekly reflection or inquiry, drawing from yoga philosophy, seasonal and lunar rhythms, and Traditional Chinese Medicine.

There is plenty of quiet. Sometimes something follows you home; sometimes the practice is simply lying over a bolster and breathing.

Special Practices

A little more time to go deeper.

Throughout the year, I offer special practices shaped by seasonal and lunar rhythms, Hindu festivals, and the traditions and teachings I come from.

These practices won't always look the same. Some might be quiet and inward; others might involve movement, mantra, sound or conversation. I draw from āsana, Yin, Tantra, Nāda Yoga, prāṇāyāma, meditation, philosophy and self-inquiry depending on what we're exploring.

You Are Welcome Here

Your body, your choice

I'll offer shapes, options and props. You can change a shape, come out early, take a break, or spend half the class lying on your bolster.

This is a practice, not a performance.

Yoga isn't about getting the shape right or having a particular experience. That’s part of what makes yoga something we live.
